Mono
New York brought me “This will destroy you”… then in a blink I discovered “Mono” and “Explosions in the sky”.
If you like instrumentals that transport you… give it a shot.

Born in 76, you could argue I am a seventies child, but really I was a child in the eighties. Billy Idol, A-ha… you name it… It is weird for me to see the world coming back to this era, but anyway…
Billy Idol. Well, it was back in 1984/1985. I found this tape with Billy Idol’s videos and I thought, wow… that’s fun! Kind of punk, kind of sexy, rock and -- of course -- a super skilled mad guitarist (little did I know then that the latter would matter to me so much now).
So you can picture it, after watching Idol pointing his upper lip, I probably found a mirror and didn’t sleep until I mastered this skill (see picture above). lol
I watched a VH1 concert recently where B. Idol was telling the stories around the songs, made me appreciate the guy even more.
I just watched another gig done for “Soundstage”, there was this new song…
I picked up my guitar and played on it. Much fun.

The song? De mooiste verliezers (The most beautiful loosers).
This is a live version with traditional instruments. It includes some words in english at the end.

What do you get when you mix Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)? Them Crooked Vultures.
No One Loves Me & Neither Do I… that’s the song below, not a statement.
