I am so addicted to Californication, it’s almost indecent.

Man! what a show. Tracy Chapman arrived on stage, blew us away with a first song sung “a capella” and kept us under her spell without a band at her side.
In this day and age, having an artist holding her ground with just a guitar in her hand and soul in her voice is something to behold.
She said she had a cold… well, I don’t know if this made her voice even better but her voice was fantastic. To the credit of the Hammersmith Apollo, the sound was great (probably the only positive thing I can say about this venue). Since she didn’t have a band, she had left a box in the lobby to take request and she did quite a few.
This intimate show was – for sure – the best way to celebrate 20 years of career. Magical!
