Jerry Lee Lewis (known to the world as “The Killer”), Wanda Jackson (aka “Betty Boop”… that’s just me), Linda Gail Lewis… the music was excellent, the crowd had some colorful characters (but was oh so quiet during the songs). One thing’s for sure: Jerry Lee is truly a legend. He has more rhythm and blues in his little finger that I will ever have.

I was really wondering what Timur Bekmambetov (director of Nochnoy dozor and Dnevnoy dozor) could come up with next… WANTED is the reply to my question. WANTED is not just a blockbuster, it’s a punky punchy attack against society with an anarchist twist (do not follow the leader).
Once again his heroes do not belong to this realm but this time it is even more rock and roll and brutal, very much like Fight Club at times.
My favorite part is the ending shot: Where he says something like…
“This is me taking control from the fraternity, from my boss, from billing reports, from ergonomic keyboards, from cheating girlfriends and sack of shit best friend. This is me taking back control of my life… What the fuck have you done lately?“

What can I say. Gig of the year? hell yeah! The Subways are Rock n Roll Kings… and Queen.
The Night…
We arrived late and only a few hundreds were there, sitting around… but when the Subways arrived it was packed. I thought I would be able to record some videos… nooooooooooo…. Caught in between two mosh pits, hell got unleashed in a blink and it went on til the show was over. Bounce or die.
The band was awesome, the sound much better than the last time I went to the Academy (Velvet Revolver) and the crowd… man, the crowd! it was mental. Constantly shouting, constantly bouncing, clapping so hard and so long it felt like Wembley.
I got punched a few times, got elbowed twice, got crushed on the metal bars that are supposed to control the crowd and avoid waves (fail!), carried at least three guys so they could crowd dive, received beer, water and -- according to Karl -- there was some Vodka too, finished topless (See the pictures)… all in all… normal night. Oh yeah and there was the closed subway stations, the bus to nowhere, the chase for the last train…
The pain, the bruises… are just reminders of a kick ass night. I so want to be there now…

The first time I saw Heather Nova, it was in France during a festival. She sang Island and her siren voice reached over the water surrounding the festival… I will never forget.
But i must say listening to “London Rain” in London… was meant to be.
Verse 1:
I’m not lovin’ you, way I wanted to
What I had to do, had to run from you
I’m in love with you, but the vibe is wrong
And that haunted me, all the way home
So ya never know, never never know
Never know enough, ’til it’s over love
‘Til we lose control, system overload
Screamin’ no no no, no no
I’m not lovin’ you, way I wanted to
See I wanna move, but can’t escape from you
So I keep it low, keep a secret code
So everybody else don’t have to know
Chorus:
So keep ya love locked down, ya love locked down
Keepin ya love locked down, ya love locked down
Now keep ya love locked down, ya love locked down
Now keep ya love locked down, you lose…
Verse 2:
I’m not lovin’ you, way I wanted to
I can’t keep my cool, so I keep it true
I got somethin to lose, so I gotta move
I can’t keep myself, and still keep you too
So I keep in mind, when I’m on my own
Somewhere far from home, in the danger zone
How many times did I take ‘fore I finally got through
you lose, you lose
I’m not lovin you, way I wanted to
See I had to go, see I had to move
No more wastin’ time, you can’t wait for life
which is wastin’ time, where’s the finish line
Chorus:
So keep ya love locked down, ya love locked down
Keepin ya love locked down, ya love locked down
Now keep ya love locked down, ya love locked down
Now keep ya love locked down, you lose…
Verse 3:
I’m not lovin you, way I wanted to
I bet no one new, I got no one new
I know I said I’m through, but got love for you
But I’m not lovin’ you, way I wanted to
Gotta keep it goin’, keep the lovin’ goin’
Keep it on a roll, only God knows
If I be with you, baby I’m confused
You choose, you choose
I’m not lovin’ you, way I wanted to
Where I want to go, I don’t need you
I’ve been down this road, too many times before
I’m not lovin’ you, the way I wanted to
Chorus:
So keep ya love locked down, ya love locked down
Keepin ya love locked down, ya love locked down
Now ya love locked down, ya love locked down
Now ya love locked down, you lose,…you lose,
…you lose,…you lose,…you lose
