Romeo + Juliet

ROMEO
[To JULIET] If I profane with my unworthiest hand
This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this:
My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand
To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.

JULIET
Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much,
Which mannerly devotion shows in this;
For saints have hands that pilgrims’ hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers’ kiss.

ROMEO
Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?

JULIET
Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer.

ROMEO
O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do;
They pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair.

JULIET
Saints do not move, though grant for prayers’ sake.

ROMEO
Then move not, while my prayer’s effect I take.
Thus from my lips, by yours, my sin is purged.

JULIET
Then have my lips the sin that they have took.

ROMEO
Sin from thy lips? O trespass sweetly urged!
Give me my sin again.

JULIET
You kiss by the book.

Talk about timing…

“Hacker Ron Bowes from Skull Security has created a 2.8GB torrent file which contains the Facebook account details of roughly 100 million users. That’s about 1 in 5 of the half billion accounts the social networking site has, and the torrent contains URLs for each account, with other personal details contained in the profiles such as phone numbers and email addresses.”

I wonder if he got my ”panda hat” photo. :)

Blackberry

Came to work in a white linen trouser and a shirt, little did I know that I would be doing heavy duty DIY.
The shirt had to go… it’s still hanging in the IT room. Good thing I had that grey T-shirt!
But this was not the highlight of my day. Oh no.
“Wow” was.

Bookworm

So here is today’s selection…
As I was roaming left and right in Waterstone, I got to talk to two of the shop assistants and one NKS sixth former.
I asked one shop assistant about her favourite book… to which she replied: “there are so many but lately I really liked The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, it’s a slow burner though.” I already had Dexter’s latest adventures, so it would have been more of the same… I then asked the same question to the sixth former, a very colourful character, so I was expecting something really odd and out there but he replied “there are so many but the last one I read, I really liked it! it was The Road ”, since I had seen the movie (not nearly as good as the book according to him), I knew it had the potential to be highly depressing… not the ideal summer book.
The last shop assistant looked way too busy to be bothered to reply “there are so many but lately…”, so I didn’t ask.

Now I need to stop writing and start reading. :)

Heartbeat

Made out of things I found in the music room (drumstick for the “I”, my headset and a book on harmony for the “Love” and the piece of an instrument for the “U”), while waiting for computers to do their thing.

Hunting High and Low

Some songs break you, some songs make you.
In 1985, when A-ha released Hunting High and Low, I was 9.
I got it on audio tape to go with a Sony Walkman, the real deal.
At the time, my english was non existent. so the lyrics were quite a blur.
But somehow one song caught my attention.
It wasn’t the hits “Take on Me”, “The Sun Always Shines On Tv” or “Hunting High And Low”.
No… it was “Living A Boy’s Adventure Tale”.
This song carried me places.
So everytime I wanted to find peace of mind, find strength in me… I was listening to this song.
I am listening to it now.
These days, my English has improved some… so I understand the song.
I could not have hoped for a better meaning to this song that accompanied me all my life.
I am living a boy’s adventure tale… in so many ways.
I remember the kid who used to listen religiously to this song, I remember how little of a child there was in him when he pushed play.
Whatever remained of the child in him, I have kept in me.
This song has licked my wounds so many times… it could bring tears to my eyes, but it doesn’t.
Everytime, it’s the same feeling… a subliminal feeling that only I can feel about this song.

As I was checking the band’s news online, I found out that A-Ha will play a farewell show at the Royal Albert Hall and play Hunting High And Low from beginning to end. No tickets left… too bad. Wait… 25th anniversary? Blimey. That’s quite a tale this song and I have! :)
